Collection: Raw Fleece

We are currently the largest worldwide breeders of pedigree, purebred black Wensleydale sheep. We have over 100 which happily graze here in Surrey and produce lovely fleeces for us. 

Typically shearing takes place around mid June. At the time of shearing we earmark the best of our fleeces which are of hand spinning quality. 
We then go back through these at which point every fleece is fully assessed by both James and Claire who then fully skirt each fleece. 

James and Claire both have incredibly high standards so you can guarantee that the fleeces on offer will be of high quality.

We offer pure Wensleydale fleeces primarily but may sometimes also offer white or coloured Romney/Wensleydale cross fleeces as well as lambswool from both the Wensleydales and the Wensleydale/Romney cross. 

Every year is different so some years we have more or fewer fleeces available than others.
